
All Adult Ballet Beginners classes in Term 3 will be conducted in our "Leap" room at #B1-109 Cross Street Exchange.
Start here if you're a newbie wanting an introduction to Adult Ballet. Our Beginners syllabus will cover many ballet basics including:
- Positions of legs (1st to 5th)
- Arms (bras bas, 1st to 5th), 1st to 3rd arabesque etc
- Pliés
- Battements tendus
- Rond de jambe
- Developpés
- Grands battements
- Relevés
- Centre work (done across the floor)
- Balancé
- Pas de bourrée
Adult Ballet is the perfect complement to your pole and/or dance classes. All movements combine dance and conditioning, by working through fundamental ballet positions and sequences, hand/feet positioning, posture and alignment. You will work on lines, fluidity of the arms and carriage of the body through various short series of movements done to music.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites and this class is open to absolute beginners / first-timers, no experience needed. You do not need to have a dance background or meet any fitness requirement.
Please note, however, that if you have prior injuries or medical concerns, do seek clearance from a medical professional.
Progression to: Adult Ballet Multilevel course in our studio.
Attire: Fitted tank top/tee and leggings or ballet leotard. Ballet slippers optional. A chair can be substituted for barre work.
Term course discounts/promos do not apply to drop-in classes. Please note the dates when you sign up for each choreography, as there are no make-ups/refunds/credits for missed classes.
