This is an 8-week non-choreography course. Classes are one hour per week for 8 consecutive weeks and there is no performance showtime in Week 8.
Term 1 runs from 9 January to 5 March 2023.
Join Viv for weekly hammock-supported stretches, including low-level poses that look good in photo shoots while opening up your shoulders and back.
Our Stretch instructors draw from experience in anatomy, aerial/yoga, Pilates and physiotherapy to blend conditioning with active and passive stretches that release tight muscles, unlock stiff joints and increase flexibility over time. Strength building and mobility work will also be included to facilitate movement.
There are no prerequisites and first-timers of all fitness/flexibility levels are welcome.
Stretches and conditioning may be modified for more advanced students to include splits and backbends to complement moves featured in our aerial hammock choreography classes.
- A fitting, sleeved top that fully covers your shoulders, underarms and torso (no cap sleeves/sleeveless wear, midriffs or loose tops that can ride up).
- Full-length leggings or bottoms that are fitted and stretchy, and cover your legs to the ankles (no netted/slash design leggings that leave areas of your legs exposed).
- No jewellery or accessories that will catch and tear the hammock fabric (rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets, spiky/dangling piercings).
- Socks may be worn during warm-up; otherwise barefoot.
