THESE SINGLE-CLASS DROP-INS ARE DESIGNED FOR HAMMOCK TECH 1 REPEATERS (i.e. you have previously completed a full 8-week course of Hammock Tech 1) OR THOSE DOING HAMMOCK CHOREO 1 OR 2.
Term 5 starts the week of 29 August 2022 and there is no choreography or performance showtime.
This aerial hammock techniques class builds on fundamentals and each class will progressively exercise and refine key hammock moves, transitions and combinations, in addition to essential conditioning and strength building to help you improve your aerial skills and execute them with greater precision, fluidity and better lines.
While there is no choreography in this course, learned moves will be combined into short sequences to exercise rhythm and flow, often to music.
Level 1 includes invert combinations (hip hangs, diamond inversions), binds, upright spinning combinations and leg hangs.
Prerequisites: Completed Hammock Choreo Beginners or the equivalent of an introductory level aerial hammock course. Also recommended for those taking Hammock Choreo 1 and Hammock Choreo 2.
- A fitting, sleeved top that fully covers your shoulders, underarms and torso (no cap sleeves/sleeveless wear, midriffs or loose tops that can ride up).
- Full-length leggings or bottoms that are fitted and stretchy, and cover your legs to the ankles (no netted/slash design leggings that leave areas of your legs exposed).
- No jewellery or accessories that will catch and tear the hammock fabric (rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets, spiky/dangling piercings).
- Socks may be worn during warm-up; otherwise barefoot.
Term course discounts/promos do not apply to drop-in classes. Please note the dates when you sign up for each class, as there are no refunds/credits for missed classes.
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A LEVEL THAT YOU ARE NOT READY FOR. WE LEVY A $20 CLASS CHANGE FEE IF YOU BOOK A COURSE BEYOND YOUR SKILL LEVEL. IF IN DOUBT, PLEASE CONTACT US FOR AN ASSESSMENT.
