This progressive course is designed for those wanting to improve their heelwork at all levels.
While there is no choreography in this course, all taught moves will be incorporated into short sequences with music to exercise rhythm and fluency.
Each class will include conditioning and drills for turn-outs, stability and building foot/ankle strength. The syllabus will include:
- Nuances for achieving a full extension and pretty point in heels (and avoiding sickled feet)
- Weight shifts, walking (on and off the pole), pivots and transitions to/from the floor
- Pole turns, pirouettes and dismount landings
- Sweeps, fans and variations from passé and rond de jambe moves
- Leg waves on and off the pole
Term 1 runs from 5 January to 1 March 2025.
- Duration: 60min per class, 8-week term (no choreography)

- Prerequisites: Completed Beginners Pole (or the equivalent of a foundation-level pole course). First-timers in heels are welcome.
