Our progressive 8-week introductory pole dance course is designed for all newcomers/first-timers to pole dancing.
In this course, you will learn a range of foundational upright spinning pole tricks and combinations each week, as well as simple transitions and floorwork. Each week's class builds progressively into a choreographed routine by the end of the term.
Classes are one hour per week and Term 1 runs from 6 January to 2 March 2025.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites and this course is open to absolute beginners / first-timers, no experience needed. You do not need to have a dance background or meet any fitness requirement.
However, if you have prior injuries or medical concerns, please seek clearance from a medical professional prior to signing up.
Progression to: Level 1 courses in our studio upon successful completion of the full 8-week course.
Attire: Tank top and pole shorts.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR / BRING TO CLASS?
Please wear a t-shirt or tank top/sports bra and shorts. You will need to leave your legs uncovered so that you will be able to grip the pole (please do not wear leggings). No footwear is required.
Do bring a personal hand towel to wipe down your pole after use, and your own water bottle.
DO NOT wear any jewelry or hand/body moisturizer on the day of your class as these will damage our poles, and could also injure you or cause you to slip.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN'T ATTEND A CLASS?
We ask all enrolled participants to join our closed Facebook group, and to post for a make-up class (and tag the relevant instructors). Make-up classes can only be done via mutual swap with someone else if all classes are full, and we do not hold waitlists.
Alternatively, you can make up with a Stretch class if no make-up class options are available.

WHAT OUR COMMUNITY SAYS ABOUT US
Neko Tan
"...very experienced and meticulous pole instructors who are also professional dancers that come up with many new in-house choreographies every term! I've never felt stagnant as they continue to challenge themselves to try new things and evolved to become better as we (their students) get better! They do not just offer classes for people with background in pole dance or any dance background at all as there are multiple levels of classes and genres available, including dance classes without pole and adult ballet. It's a great place for both beginners looking to try their hand (or leg) at dancing and the more experienced looking for a happy place to dance their hearts away!" |
Shu Wen "...more than just a pole studio. This has become my happy place and my second home. The instructors have built a family that is ever ready to support and lift each other up regardless of background, experience, gender etc. Their passion, joy and spirit are truly an inspiration and infectious! There's always something new to learn and the friends make it so much fun. Start your pole journey at BDC. You won't regret it!" |
